How do I add or enroll a microsoft MFA/2FA multifactor authenticator?
- To enable Microsoft's MFA, they have a basic enrollment site at https://aka.ms/mfasetup
- Note that you DON'T need to install their Microsoft Authenticator app, and we don't recommend you use it as that will likely complicate things for you
You can do the enrollment using our existing NetIQ authentication app to scan their code, simply click on 'I want to use a different authenticator app'. See screenshot below. Simply name it 'SMS Microsoft 2fa' or similar when done so you can differentiate, as those rolling codes will ONLY work for Teams / Office 365.
- If don't want to use an app code, you can choose 'I want to setup a different method' from the bottom of the enrollment site in small text, and enter a cell number for text or phone calls for verification. See screenshot below
